The Nokia 5310 Xpress Music is a candybar shaped handset, specially created for users who love to listen to music wherever they go. The design of the phone is really sleek and light-weighted (dimensions of 103.8 x 44.7 x 9.9 mm and weight of just 71 grams) which provides user with a device that is really easy to carry. Special music keys are dedicated for volume control, track toggling and play/pause option. The media player provided with the phone supports a wide array of file formats, including MP3, AAC, eAAC, eAAC+, MIDI, WMA, WAMR and MXMF. The widget uses a Li-Ion 860 mAh (BL-4CT) battery which can provide upto 20 hours of music playback time, upto 4 hours of video playback time, talktime power backup of upto 5 hours and standby power backup of upto 300 hours when fully charged. The phone also comes with a RDS enabled stereo FM.

The Nokia 5310 Xpress Music is equipped with a 2 mega pixels camera. For capturing better quality images, the phone comes with with additional features such as 4x digital zoom, landscape mode, colour tone settings, white balance settings and light sensitivity settings. A good quality photo can be taken from this camera even in adverse conditions with the help of these wide range of features. The phone can also record videos at 15 frames per second. With a fully charged battery, the phone can record upto 1 hour of video. Along with imaging features, the device also comes preloaded with utilities such as Nokia Sensor, World Clock II, Converter II, Stopwatch, Voice memo/Commands and built-in handsfree.The device is also Java MIDP 2.1 enabled which makes it capable for installation of additional software.

The Nokia 5310 Xpress Music comes with 30 MB of internal memory, and the provision of enhancing its memory with memory card. The external memory of the device can be expanded upto 8GB through microSD card. The phone operates in four different bands in 2G network connection. EDGE and GPRS technologies are integrated in the phone which enables it for high speed Internet connectivity. For data transferring at high speeds, the phone is equipped with Bluetooth and microUSB features. The phone offers a 2.1 inches TFT display that supports 16 million colours. The elegant device is available in four different colour schemes.
